Just a friendly reminder about our rules...

 Image is from the Graphicsfairy

Hi everyone, what a great bunch of followers we have, and I am so honoured and chuffed, that we have reached and gone over the 200 mark, and I apologise that I was remiss of making it a momentous occasion...which it is of course...
So a big Hello and Thank You to you all....
Dragonfly hugs xxxooo
So I will set another goal shortly and add some freebies, so watch this space...

This is just a friendly reminder about our rules, please read them before entering, as we alternate between cards and a projects so cannot accept a project or 3d items when it is a card challenges or vice versa....
The other thing is the image or theme...
In our rules at the top tab you will find out that we don't allow any
Halloween, witches, or adult themed images in our challenges.
I am sorry to say, that any entries with these images will be disqualified....
But if you have read the rules, you already know that...............thanks

I checked a lot of other challenge blogs before I set up ours and they all have rules in one form or another, and reading some of them (geeze!!) we are pretty straight forward and very basic really....

Our Dragonflies love visiting your blogs and it is just awesome to see how much talent is out there...and how so very creative you are, I get so many ideas for other projects just by visiting you...
And doesn't time fly when you do that???
Please make sure your word verification is off, so our girls don't have to jump through hoops to leave you a comment...

I pray you have a wonderful creative week, and have fun...it takes more muscles to frown than to smile.....really? I never knew that....Smile and make someones day.....

 many blessings Hilde

DT Call is complete
A very big heartfelt thank you to all that applied via our blog and via email........
I would like to introduce you now to our two new Dragonflies.....please make them feel welcome

Say hi to Sammy

My name is Sammy and I live in Leeds in the UK with my husband and two kids. I started card making last summer when I bought a Docrafts goodie bag on a whim for the kids to make fathers day cards with. As there was so much in the bag and hubby’s birthday only a couple of days later, we made birthday cards too, and I enjoyed it so much, I soon started getting more and more bits to play with. Well, you can all relate to the slippery slope that becomes!
I started my blog in July this year, and not long after took the plunge to start stamping and colouring images, rather than use pre-made toppers. My addiction has now gone to a whole new level! And with the recent addition of a die cutting machine, I don’t think life will ever be the same…
My main obsessions are LOTV stamps and designer papers and I LOVE making boys cards, but will pretty much try anything twice! xxx

and a big hello to Wynn

Hi I'm Wynn. I was born in England but now I'm happily retired, from teaching, and living in in sunny Cyprus.
I've always been interested in Arts and Crafts but only began making cards when I arrived here in Cyprus almost 12 years ago. I began mainly to raise money for a charity I'm heavily involved in here in Paphos. (We raise money for the Renal Unit at the local hospital.)
I also hold a weekly card and papercraft group for ex.pats on a voluntary basis for the P3A or otherwise known world wide as U3A.....but this Cyprus!!! (long story)
I have tried most techniques as I love variety and also I need to think up lots of new ideas for my crafters. Each week I introduce them to a new technique or fold or piece of equipment to stimulate their interest. It's very, very difficult to get crafty goodies here and we rely heavily on internet shopping.....but you can imagine the postage is horrendous. So anyone who visits the UK always has a 'shipping' order to bring back!!
If I was asked to choose one thing 'crafty' I would say altered items and I've recently managed to get some liquid pearls brought back from the UK, so they are my faves to play with at the moment.
I too have only just started blogging and I wonder what took me sooooooooooooo long. I love it!! Especially meeting new crafters and sharing ideas. It's becoming an obsession now :). I guess most of you reading this will know what I mean.

We are blessed to have a Guest Designer with us....If you would like to be a Guest Designer, just leave a GDT after your name in your entry...
Here is one lady that leaves the best comments ever, and am pleased to have her on board.
Karen Letchworth
My name is Karen Letchworth.  I am, first and foremost, a Christian; and also a crafter who LOVES making cards, mini albums, and all things creative.  I've been happily married for over 28 years, and we have three amazing children (ages 14, 21 and 26).  God has blessed my life in so many ways, and I love to share my art and a bit of my life on my blog,My Cup Runneth Over.  I enjoy meeting crafty new friends, and would love to have you stop by my blog to say hello or become a new follower, and I will always do the same in return.  I'd like to thank Hilde and the Design Team at Crafting With Dragonflies for inviting me to Guest Design with them.  I look forward to seeing your art, and hope you enjoy these challenges as much as I did.  Thanks for having me!

Now here are some gorgeous examples from our wonderful Dragonflies:

This most intriguing and very arty creation is from Tania

This divine creation is from Ina, so elegant

This gorgeous creation is from Kelli, she has used butterfly punches to create the tree

This gorgeous creation is from Judith, love the colours and landscaping, and the background...

made this lovely centre step card with an image from tiddlyinks

Here our Susan has created two wonderful Cards with leaves

Here is Mine, with a hand drawn image I made just for this challenge.

And even though the new girls didn't have to start with this challenge they wanted to.

Here is Sammy's cute card:

And here you have Wynn's teabag folded Christmas Tree
And there you have it, hope this has inspired you enough to go and create, looking forward to checking out your creations.
(Gentle reminder: please no Halloween cards or images.)

Many Blessings from Hilde and the Dragonfly Team

Design Team Call for Crafting with Dragonflies

This beautiful photo was taken by our very own Barb, what a priviledge and how lucky she is to have Dragonflies in her garden, awesome, great pic.

Sticky Post
Design Team Call
Hi there, hope you have been very creative this week...Do you like our Challenge Blog?
Would like to become more involved? Ever thought about joining a Design Team, or maybe you are already on a few and want add one more.....
I am looking at expanding our wonderful Dragonfly Team. ( 2-3 new DT's)
It's been a humbling experience running this blog and I am so chuffed at all our wonderful followers....it's so nice to know that you like us enough to want to follow us...awesome!!

So what's the guff?
We have challenges every fortnight and we alternate between a card and a project. As much as I love making cards, my aim is to add different paper crafts to the challenge,
it is a challenge blog after all...I love it when we have heaps of entries, but it's also about the challenge, the theme, and getting our participants to try something, they would normally not do
....it's exciting...
As a Design Team Member you will receive images where offered from our Sponsors, when we have them, we will have some sponsor free challenges as well, where you have the
freedom to use your own images or stamps....

Requirements: be on time, the projects will need to be finished by the Sunday before the post goes live, you do not need previous experience as a DT, but you will need your own active blog.....it doesn't matter what 'level' crafter you are, as long as you are prepared to give things a go.....
we need all levels of crafters, and I need you to be reliable....
Being able to use markers to colour in the images would be of great advantage, but not compulsory.
We believe in communication, you will be expected to help out with different things at different times, and commit to your allotted comment roster.....if you read the rules section of this blog you will realise that we are a family G rated challenge, and certain images will not be allowed...I also stear clear of images and sponsors that have controversy hanging over them, rightly or wrongly...
What is the biggest bonus? you will be working with a great bunch of girls...
If this sounds like you, then no use waiting around, add your link and and send me an email
(thegrasslady(at)gmail.com)  telling me why you would like to be on our Team...
Please make sure before you apply, that you will be able to commit once selected.
We are looking at a 6 month term, but that is negotiable and can be open ended...
We are looking at starting mid November for your first assignment...
oh yeah, nearly forgot, you will need to be a follower of our blog to be eligible....
and willing to try new things...
Blessings Hilde

Winners Post for Challenge # 11

Before I tell you the winners of the last challenge, I have to tell you something about the latest one!

Our current challenge (found here) asks you to make a box, and at least THREE cards to fit into this. It is obviously NOT a card challenge as it has the box with it.  The DT found this to be such a fun challenge and we have enjoyed making our container for the three smallish cards, and then making the cards to fit (or visa-versa in my case!) You can tell they enjoyed it because they are all (even mine!) so gorgeous!! We did have a bit of time to think about it, but I will let you into a secret - I made mine only the week before it was due, and I had not really thought about it until I began to construct it. See, it can be done! They also make great gift sets and I know they sell really well for those of you who are commercially minded or who are making for charities.

There are heaps of tutorials available for boxes: lots of beautiful die-cuts out there to add to them if you want, and really, the sky is the limit here.  You can repurpose a box/container; make one from scratch or use a template. Paint it, scrap it, decorate it, don't decorate it........whatever, as my granddaughters used to say when they were a bit younger! Just DO IT!

So, please......have a go at this challenge! We have got only a few entries (three as I write this) and it would be a pity if you don't go in this, as there are some great prizes from our lovely sponsors!

Our wonderful Sponsors for this challenge are:

Winner 1 will receive a $12 gift voucher to spend in the shop

Winner 2 will receiver $10 Voucher to spend at the shop Di's Digi Designs

Enough of the advertorial! Back to the program.......

Winner's Challenge # 11: Card Challenge - Use your scrap

Use your Scrap
( at least 5 different pieces of DP)

Hilde has chosen the winner's as usual, and she was blown away by all that were shared with us on the Linky: such a great lot to chose from again this fortnight! People obviously find the card challenges easier, but the projects are just as much fun and so much more interesting!

Just a note: some people couldn't be considered for prizes because they didn't follow the simple rules we have. Please make sure you read these before entering. For example, this challenge is a CARD challenge - we tend to alternate between projects and straight cards, and Hilde always tells you what it is when the challenge is announced.

Our wonderful Sponsors for this challenge are

4 digis of winners choice
16  Cheryl (the gorgeous 3D effect of the tree and  for using  the scrap for the borders underneath)

 and

7 digis of winners choice

4 Nancy ( I love the way the hearts pop off the card, the LO and the lovely sentiment)

Congratulations Ladies, and please contact use at craftingwithdragonflies@gmail.com for your prize; don't forget to collect the winners badge off the sidebar and boast loudly! I do when I get mentioned!! (Is that bad?? NOOO! THAT's GOOD!)
Now for our TOP THREE pick from this challenge:

This week Ina has chosen the Top Three - remember, these are not in any particular order.  Congratulations go to:

Magaret has punched out lots of baubles here to use up all her stash/scraps

Sammi has layered up her scraps in an exciting format. Love the image too!

Cathy's card is so simple and elegant and she has used up five small pieces of stash - such patience too to tie those bows!

Ladies, your TOP THREE badge is on the side bar - please copy/paste it into your blogs and brag a bit!
Congratulations to you all!
